The business case for validait

Calculate with your own figures. The calculation separates monetary impact from pure capacity, counts nothing twice and discloses every formula. Your inputs stay in your browser, nothing is stored or transmitted.

Benefits and costs per year

Only the additional contribution margin, avoided external costs and the share of time counted as cost-effective are cash-effective. The remaining freed time is shown in grey and is not included in the ROI.

How robust is the result?

Each row halves one assumption, all others stay the same.

Calculation in detail
Methodology

No double counting

The freed time is used exactly once: either for additional bids or as avoided costs, or it remains as capacity in the team. Time put into bids cannot also be booked as a saving.

Contribution margin instead of revenue

The calculation values the contribution margin, spread over the contract term and only from the start of performance. Contract awards at the end of the period therefore count only in part. Additional bids are valued at today's win rate, not at the improved one.

Net present value and ramp-up

All payments are discounted monthly at the discount rate. The impact increases linearly during the ramp-up time. Your own implementation and maintenance time is included as a cost at the fully loaded rate.

Model calculation based on your assumptions, no guarantee of actual results. validait is a review tool; you make the decision on a bid.

The default value ‘Effort per review’ in the calculator is based on these seven steps. They occur in almost every company, regardless of the industry. The minutes are guide values for a typical tender; enter your own values above.

The 75% corresponds to the assumption ‘Time saved per review’ in the calculator's realistic scenario. With 15 reviews per month, you then need 22.5 instead of 90 hours, which is 67.5 hours less. On top of that come around 12 fewer hours of portal searching.
